For my first blog post of 2015, in the depths of winter, I'd like to write about my summer. It was the most eventful and happy summer, firstly because I got married to my amazing husband. Then, a couple of weeks after returning from honeymoon, I was fortunate enough to be able to fly out to Seattle, WA in the U.S.A. to attend the celebrated Pilchuck Glass School, as a teaching assistant to the internationally renowned artist, Keke Cribbs. Studio sort out
In between a lot of sitting at my desk, thesis-writing this week, I've been back in the studio having a bit of a New Year sort out. A few jobs needed doing which I didn't have time for before Christmas so I roped in some assistance from my super-talented (and very helpful) engineer dad, Eric. I now know how to refit the lighting unit in the sandblaster, and the studio has a fully functioning linisher. So I can sandblast and edge glass to me heart content. Thanks Dad! #photo
